主講人介紹：劉治國，華東師范大學(xué)教授，博士生導(dǎo)師，主要研究領(lǐng)域?yàn)闄E圓函數(shù)論、基本超幾何級數(shù)理論和數(shù)論。他對天才數(shù)學(xué)家Ramanujan遺留的諸多問題有深入廣泛的研究并取得令人矚目的研究成果。在國際上率先提出q-偏微分方程的概念并將其應(yīng)用到q-級數(shù)的研究中，開辟了此領(lǐng)域新的研究方向。曾被英國皇家學(xué)會破格授予“王寬誠皇家學(xué)會研究獎學(xué)金”，美國科學(xué)院院士George Andrews教授盛贊他“發(fā)展了令人稱奇的數(shù)學(xué)方法”。迄今已在Advances in Mathematics, Transactions of AMS，IMRN等國際重要數(shù)學(xué)刊物上發(fā)表研究論文70多篇，獲教育部高等學(xué)校自然科學(xué)研究成果獎二等獎等獎項(xiàng)。

內(nèi)容介紹：In this talk I will introduce two decomposition theorems for theta functions and discussed their applications to modular forms and trigonometric identities. In particular, I will provide an interpretation of a puzzle due to Hermite.
